Cascara Los Lajones
Cascara is the dried coffee fruit that is a waste byproduct of the coffee processing. Normally a problem for the enviroment, Graziano Cruz, saw the potential and started experimenting with preserving cascara through spraying it with lemon juice on his organic and award winning coffee farm Los Lajones.
The dried coffee is full of nutrients, antioxidants and vitamins and has a sweet and fruity flavour. It is brewed like a tea and makes a mild refreshing drink with little caffeine.
12g Cascara for 250 ml of water, water temperature 94 degree Celsius, steep for 4 minutes, steep longer for more sweetness.
