Berries. Yellow stone fruits. Winey acidity. Structured.
Ernesto, the producer of this coffee, is only 27 years old and one of the few young coffee growers in Central America. As coffee prices fluctuate a lot in producing countries, growing coffee is a business linked to high risks. Young people strive for more secure and more profitable alternatives.
Our importers strive for long-term relationships with producers such as Ernesto to develop sustainable value chains and by that to stabilize the volatile coffee market. At the core of these relationships is the common goal to push for even better quality year-on-year.
Ernesto’s farm Don Moncho is situated at 1800 m.a.s.l. in the region of Tarrazu, Santa Maria de Dota. He grows mainly cherries of the Catuai variety and has just started processing the coffee himself.
The result of his work and experiments can be tasted in this white honey processed micro-lot, which stood out on our cupping table with structure and complexity.
Suitable for all brewing methods.
