Blackberry. Peach. Black tea. Juicy.
Muthonjo is a small estate run by four brothers who instead of dividing the land after they inherited from their father decided to keep its integrity and manage it together.
The farm is 5,6 hectars in size and produces micro lots of outstanding quality with a wide range of flavours. After careful cherry selection and depulping the coffee has been fermented for 16-24 hours in concrete tanks. Followed by a second washing and 16 hour soaking process, the parchment coffee is finally dried on raised beds for up to 21 days. This process is common practice in Kenya and has proven to be produce coffees with brightness and clarity.
We have selected this lot directly in Kenya as we cupped through countless outstanding coffes during our three day visit.
This is the first release of a series of outstanding Kenyan coffees of the 2016/17 harvest. All our Kenyans will be both unique and representative for their region and will in entity showcase the full spectrum of this outstanding origin.
Please expect intense, mature flavours of yellow stonefruit, tart berries along deep floral notes of jasmin and black tea.
Please enjoy as a filter brew.
