Remera is a washing station run by Bufcoffee: a coffee processing and collection company owned by Ephiphanie Mukashyaka and her son Samuel. Founded in 2000, Bufcoffee has become known for producing outstanding coffee, such as this lot from the Muduha Farmer Group.
We chose this coffee for its distinctive citric acidity and fruit-driven sweetness. Because the levels of acidity and sweetness in this coffee are so well-balanced, we believe that it’s perfectly suited for espresso. When roasting, we aim to accentuate the Remera’s naturally high levels of sweetness with a relatively long caramelisation phase, which helps to develop flavours of toffee and white chocolate alongside stone fruit and citrus. This coffee makes a delightful milk drink, with a smooth mouthfeel and plenty of flavour character.
