This coffee was decaffeinated directly at origin, using a method known as ‘Sugarcane’ or E.A. High quality green beans from different producers have been selected solely for this process.
The fresh green coffee is steamed and then washed using ethyl acetatic. This compound, comprised of ethanol (produced by fermenting sugar cane) and acetic acid (the primary component of vinegar), occurs naturally in wine and ripening fruits.
After decaffeination, the beans are again washed clean and dried, with the entire process designed to preserve as much of their cellular structure and flavour characteristics as possible.
This coffee has a great sweetness with notes of red grape and cardamon and is suitable for all brewing methods.
