Ceramic Filter Cup

We use these Bonanza-branded cups for serving filter coffee, chosen for their timeless design and delicate shape. Just as enjoyable to use at home — bringing the café experience into your daily ritual.

Created by hand using the traditional technique of slip casting.

Begin with a liquid porcelain slip, carefully poured into custom-made plaster molds. As the plaster absorbs water, a delicate porcelain layer forms along the walls. Once the excess slip is removed, the form naturally shrinks and releases from the mold as it dries.

Each cup is then smoothed, dried, and given its first firing. A transparent glaze is applied and fired again at up to 1300 °C, where clay, glaze, and fire unite to create a dense, durable body with a luminous surface. This high firing ensures strength, resilience, and long life. Finally, the cups are decorated with prints that are fired once more so the pigments melt seamlessly into the glaze.
